Battlefield 6 Players Concur: Challenges Are Overly Demanding

The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 was met with broad praise, notably for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. However, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are mandatory to obtain particular firearms.

Players have started resorting to personalized games set up using the custom game tool to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how demanding these missions have become.

Understanding BF6 Assignments

Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, in contrast to the regularly refreshed everyday and weekly missions. It features four classes of assignments, but although many merely grant cosmetics and some tools, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of acquiring 12 of the 41 key firearms present in the game.

Several of these gated guns may soon find their way on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Community Frustration via Reddit

Within Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. An individual player emphasized one of the most egregious examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This task is so atrocious and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many positive effects in fights as it did in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at very short distances, which is not usually a position you aim to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that mission would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and conversely.

Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge

A different forum member brought attention to an additional excessively hard challenge, now in the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns from more than 200 meters away with marksman guns

This is tough enough as it is, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at those extended distances.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it implies you must stick to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and possibly an additional option at a push if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.

The Bypass

However, there is a solution: the portal. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This allows you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.

But when tackling the tasks in a proper game appears to work against fun, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, who can blame someone for completing them in a personal session so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Potential Changes

It should not be shocking if a number of these missions are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the restricted guns.

Currently, the community continues to express their views on these challenging battlefield assignments, anticipating a more balanced gaming experience in subsequent patches.
